A Prayer for Today
Almighty God who sits on the throne of Heaven and Earth
Who created all things, and in Whom all things hold together
May Your name be lifted high today
We know your space is Holy and your Kingdom is right
As we look around this world and see the pain, hurt, disease and death plaguing our land
We ask, humbly, your space, be reflected in ours
We know all things come from you, and is within your power to provide
We ask your continued provision in our lives
We know every good and perfect gift comes from above
We ask those gifts be given freely in our time, in our world.
We know our world is full of mis-steps.
We know there are times we don't live up to your calling.
We ask your forgiveness in those places, and ask for the power to forgive others
We ask for the power to have peace that passes all understanding.
We ask for the foresight to understand how to live and love here
As you've called us to live.
Help us to be understanding with those we interact with today
Help us reflect your heart to the hearts we get to touch today
We know this world is yours.
We submit our desires to reflect the desires you have for us.
May we continue to understand the glory and power comes from You alone.
It's in all this we pray today
