The first Monday of your Lent Journey is a Milestone. You've made it through the first weekend, the first Sabbath, and now you're well on your way to remembering the hope we long for. It's not a hope simply imagined by near eastern poets, but rather; a hope, if indeed real, can change the way the world spins.
Her on the first Monday, I want you to ask a few questions about whatever faith you believe in. You see, I believe we all have faith. Some of us choose to believe in a God who created the world and has been interacting with mankind since the beginning of time. Others believe the world has always existed, and there's an ebb and flow happening at all times to balance good and evil. While others still have other unique views about the origins of the Universe and the laws governing it.
Today I want you to look deep in your own journey and ask, "Who is my God?"
A God is something in your life that you bow to, you worship this being, and for many people "God" can take many forms. An Atheist doesn't believe in God, to you I ask, "Why?" A Hindu approaches "God" as a revelation through all of creation, and to you I wonder, "How do you come to that conclusion?" And for many who are theists, we believe there is one God. How did we arrive at knowing about God?
Take some time today to write down Who your God is. We'll spend all week working through a process to examine your worldview as it is, and ask how we can work on developing a more comprehensive way of looking at life around us.
But for today, Who is your God? What does it look like? How do you serve it?
We all have one, no matter if you go to church or not, We ALL serve something? Who is it for you?
