It's all over for Fat Tuesday, and Ash Wednesday is today. Ash Wednesday is a time to reflect and begin to examine how you will spend the next month or so looking forward to Easter Sunday. Usually it takes the form of fasting, or denying yourself something in order to work into the rhythm of sacrifice.
As we take this Lent season seriously, here are a few questions for your lenten journey.
What will you sacrifice in preparation for your celebration? (many people choose something of significance that will be a constant reminder throughout their day.)
As you examine your own life today, what hope are you needing to show itself in your own state?
The scripture says, "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me." (Psalm 51:10-12)
